Okay,so I ain't scared of putting out a challenge to my brothers, but, it's no use i see my arse when push comes to shove. So... I ask for help. I know my box can give me 140dBs plus. Someone please figure out where I went wrong. Do i change a setting or do I change my amp, subs or the whole damn setup (subs and amp)? 2 x Massive V12 subs with dual 2 ohm voice coils (250W rms each) running off a DB1000 amp (500W rms @ 2 ohm). Pls note that the amp can not run 1 ohm stable. Massive has lots of options available, but, which way do I go?????

The kenny's are 4 ohm single voice coils, i might just have to get a new box for them. The earths i can make a plan with. For the 0 guage, I'll come around fot a chat soon. Thanx again for the help.

Kenny's can work...but...2+2 Ohm = 1 Ohm...back to square 1. If you run them @ 4 + 4 = 2 Ohm...bully can work. Remember earth direct from battery, i.e., 1 amp 1 earth from battery, 2 amps = 2 earths from battery...makes a difference and the same applies to power...one run from battery per amp...so if you have 2 amps and 3 spare batteries you need to run 3 x leads from both + & -...it works. Welding cable is shit...100% confirmed kak...do not use it...I can get "0" guage cable (1600 strands & 100% copper) for R110/m which is cheap..

Thanx for all the advice. I have a couple of questions though: 1, where do i get 2 guage wire? (welding cable?) 2, I'm using seperate earths for the amps, will it help if I change it to a mutual earth? I have 16mm wood available, so I will fit the baffle as soon as I have some time available. The idea I had was to exchange the massives for my kenwoods, but alas, the faceplate is to small for them (I'm short about 30mm diameter) The reason for this idea is because the kenwoods are 400w rms @ 4 ohm. Would it make a difference if they are connected parallel @ 2 ohm? I never thought I would get this serious about sound!!!

I did some research and as you know, 6 guage wiring is fine, the 2 guage will give better stability. As for running @ 1Ohm the amp as you mentioned will not like the settings hence you have to use both channels on the 1000. The only suggestion I have is to squeeze the port to create more velocity which means your frequency will go up or down, we have to get the resonent frequency of your cab and my opinion is that it's sitting around 58hZ with your current Fmax @ 56hZ...what it means is we have to tune your box a bit. I also suggest splitting the box...I know a lot of people will shoot me down in flames for this comment but we have proved it to work...an example..Alton's Polo did a 134.2 and after we changed the ports and split the box he did a 143.2 with the same equipment. settings etc. No a big issue, all you need to do is fit a baffle in the middle of your current port (suggest 16mm) and use duct tape to seal it for a test. It will increase your frequency and also allow more port velocity...worth a try as it is a minor detail...if it works take the box out and fit the split baffle permanently..

Esih...power seems to be the problem, suggest you run 2 Guage cable from battery to amp, change amp to DB 2000 and set gains on full....blow the fuckers voicecoils out the window...!

Khaos my friend, your question is a difficult one to answer for the following reasons... what is your goal? what do you wanna achieve? what is your budget? Your current setup as is is capable of running 140+ db's. Your only problem is your amp size. I think the cheapest option would be to either get another db1000 or maybe a db2000. the db100 might be the better option....so the following is necessary....
2 runs of power cable for the 2 db1000's,
a switch on your splits amp for when you do spl runs (you can put a simple switch on the remote wire),
same sized earth wire as the power wire
battery...at least a 654
fine tuning on your port
and i reckon you should hit at least 142db on termlab consistantly

Your other option is go for a wall... haha
